ODIOT HEIRLOOMS are recognizable not only by their famous hallmark, but above all by their great aesthetic quality and timeless style, for throughout the centuries and to great international acclaim, the House of Odiot has created only the most exceptional examples of the decorative arts of France.   IMPRESSIVE CRAFTSMANSHIP and technical know-how have guided the House of Odiot for over 300 years: Odiot silversmiths still seek daily inspiration from its unique collection of technical drawings that date back as far as the 18th Century; their tools - such as anvils, burnishers, drawtongs and cross-pein hammers - have remained unchanged since the time of Louis XV.   ODIOT craftsmen work noble materials: sterling silver, gold and bronze. For flatware 925/1000 pure silver is used, whereas 950/1000 pure silver is used for all other handcrafted pieces, as certified by the hallmark "Minerve du Service Français de la Garantie". Each object crafted by the House of Odiot also carries the master silversmith hallmark, accepted as an unquestionable guarantee of quality all over the world.     TODAY, the House of Odiot brings together all the talents of the silversmith's trade, where each handcrafted piece is passed from one master craftsman to the next: from the Founder at the forge to the Planisher, the Turner, the Chaser, the Settter and finally to the Polisher. Throughout the working procedure, painstaking attention is given to the smallest details. For example, the setter will make his own threaded rod and rivets to insure the perfect fixing of an applied decoration. Beyond his technical virtuosity, each craftsman has acquired, over the years, sensitivity which bestows to each piece true artistic value.   AS a result of such dedication, the House of Odiot is the last French silversmith able to create masterpieces - which may take more than a 100 working hours to complete - under one roof.
